Accreditation Information

Abbott House, LLC is licensed as a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) through the State of Illinois and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). A SMHRF, previously known as IMD ICF (Institute for Mental Disease, Intermediate Care Facility), is a freestanding residential treatment facility for individuals living with chronic and persistent mental illness.

SMHRF Facilities provide long-term mental health rehabilitation care, including individual therapy, group therapy, skills-building, and medication management under 24-hour supervision to build the skills needed for independent living.

CARF is an independent, international, nonprofit organization focused on advancing the quality of services an organization uses to meet the needs of persons served with the best possible outcomes. Abbott House, LLC has been issued a three-year CARF Accreditation based on its recent survey. The accreditation applies to Residential Treatment: Mental Health (Adults) and will extend through 29 February 2028.

The State of Illinois inspects our facility on an annual basis for our SMHRF license.
